Did You Know?

Once you become a member of the American Women's Club of London, you automatically become a member of FAWCO — an international network of volunteer clubs and associations with 10,000 members worldwide. Just go to the website and register!

FAWCO was founded in 1931 by Caroline Curtis Brown, President of the American Women's Club in London, who believed that enlightened women, working cooperatively throughout the world, could do much to help achieve international peace.

The FAWCO network includes 60 clubs in 31 countries

It serves as a resource and a voice for its members; and seeks to improve the lives of women and girls worldwide, especially in four key areas:

  • Education
  • The environment
  • Health
  • Human rights

In addition, FAWCO advocates for the rights of U.S. citizens overseas and contributes to the global community through its Teams and The FAWCO Foundation, which provides development grants and education awards.
