**I have reserved a table for a group and have put my credit card down for guarantee. Therefore, I do ask that you do not cancel with more than 48 hour notice so that I can fill the spot. The House of Commons is a very British affair with the promise of courteous service and top end British cuisine. Classic styling comes in the form of white tablecloths and political themed art-lined walls. High painted ceilings, huge windows that look out over the Commons Terrace and carved oak panelled walls give these dining rooms a sense of grandeur and political intrigue unlike any other restaurant.

Enjoy a preprandial drink before your lunch in the resplendent surroundings of the Pugin Room, dedicated to the memory of Augustus Welby Pugin who directed the interior designs of the Palace. The Pugin Room will be open from 12:00pm for those with lunch dining reservations and from 6.30pm for those with dinner reservations.

We operate a dress code at the House of Commons of smart casual as a minimum. Collared shirts are preferred for gentlemen, with long trousers and shoes. Sportswear and trainers are not allowed in the dining rooms.
  • In consideration to all our diners we operate a child policy of 6 years old and above. They must always be accompanied by an adult.
  • Smoking is prohibited, including the use of e-cigarettes.
  • Assistance dogs are permitted with prior notice.

To keep Parliament safe for everyone, we have security measures you need to follow when you visit.

Search and screening

You and your belongings will need to go through airport-style security before entering Parliament.

The wait time to get through security is up to 30 minutes on average. At busier times, like Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, the average time is 45 minutes.

The queue starts outside the building so dress for the weather.
